Mr David Hardcastle - Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) - Hampshire Constabulary and Thames Valley Police - Operations
Dave Hardcastle joined Hampshire Constabulary in 1990 as a PC and has served his entire career with the force. He has a broad range of operational and strategic policing experience, developed through a variety of roles, including deputy Basic Command Unit (BCU) commander, Force Leadership Development programme lead, head of the Intelligence, Tasking and Development Command, and a force gold commander since 2014.
Ongoing projects include supporting the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) in proposals for national and regional development for frontline response officers, as well as working with the South East region to develop a broader approach to collaboration.
Dave spent a year as chief of staff at the newly-formed College of Policing, developing the role of the College with the Home Office, Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC), the NPCC and staff associations.
Dave attended the Strategic Command Course in 2015 and in May 2016 he was appointed Assistant Chief Constable Operations, with responsibility across Hampshire and Thames Valley for Firearms, Strategic Operations, Roads Policing, the Dog, Marine and Mounted sections, Civil Contingencies, front counters and Contact Management.
He is the regional lead for firearms, Disaster Victim Identification (DVI), and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN), and the National Police Air Service (NPAS) liaison for Thames Valley, Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey and Kent.
Dave is married with two daughters.
