Our Leadership & Professional Development team offer support with applications for promotion or specialist roles. We allocate an appropriate mentor in line with your personal aspirations and offer leadership development courses to enhance supervisory skills and realise your leadership potential.
Internally, we run a range of courses covering communication skills, IT skills, problem solving skills and many more.
In order to ensure that our staff are skilled and trained to support frontline policing, we are committed to investing in the leadership and professional development of all police staff. Our aim is to develop their skills in order to build a professional workforce who is committed to serving the public.
During your career, there is the opportunity to achieve a National Vocational Qualification. The qualifications are currently offered in Customer Service, Business and Administration, Contact Centre and Management. You will receive on-the-job training and coaching, and will be assessed by an occupationally competent assessor against national standards. Once the standards are achieved, you will receive a certificate which is recognised nationally.
