Chief Constable’s commendation ceremony – media invitation

Members of the media are invited to attend a Chief Constable’s Commendation ceremony being held next week to recognise the outstanding work, bravery and dedication of officers and members of public, with a number of awards going to the officers and staff who were part of the force’s response to the collision on the A34 on 10th August 2016 in which tragically four people lost their lives.
Chief Constable Francis Habgood will present Commendations during a ceremony at Holdsworth Hall, Sulhamstead Force Training Centre, Sulhamstead, Reading, RG7 4DX, on Tuesday 17th January.
Among those being commended are:
- A Police Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, three Police officers and two Communications officers for their work as part of the force’s response to the collision on the A34 on 10th August 2016.
- Three police officers, and a police sergeant for their actions in response to an incident in which a woman was being kept in a flat against her will by a man in High Wycombe in July 2015. The offender attempted to stab both officers with a chisel during the incident.
- Police Sergeant Colin Prickett and Police officer Ian Baldock, for their actions in response to an incident in which they performed CPR following an incident in which a member of the public was in collision with a vehicle in Milton Keynes.
In total, 14 individuals will receive Commendations.
The ceremony itself is a closed event, starting at 2.30pm. An opportunity for members of the media to interview and take photos of those commended will take place from 4pm.
