Thursday 12 January 2017, 7:28am
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision.
At around 5.16pm yesterday evening (11/1) a collision occurred on the A361 Northbound just outside Lechlade, on the Oxfordshire side of the border, between a pedestrian and a Ford Transit van.
The road was closed for accident investigation work and has since re-opened.
Inspector Gavin Biggs of the Roads Policing Joint Operations Unit, said: “Sadly a man has died following this collision and we are working to inform the man’s next of kin.
“We are asking for the public’s assistance to trace the driver in this collision as they did not stop at the scene.
“We are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident or may have seen a Ford Transit van shortly after this incident on the A361 with damage to the nearside (passenger) door mirror.
“Additionally if anyone is aware of a newly damaged Ford Transit van, or if a garage around Lechlade and the surrounding area is approached to carry out repairs to damage to the nearside door mirror we would ask them to come forward.
“We are carrying out further enquiries but if anyone has information that they feel relevant we would ask them to contact Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101 quoting the reference 1085 11/1/2017.
