Local priorities - 'You said, We did'
The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:
You said: Burglary non-dwelling
You said there has been a concern regarding overnight rural non-dwelling burglaries
We did work with vulnerable premises to target harden the properties. We attended the Old Berks Hunt Community Day to provide crime prevention advice to hundreds of people and will be attending several other events across the year. We have provided dedicated patrols to tackle overnight offending. As a result we have seen no repeat offences.
You said: Speeding
You said there have been specific locations identified as suffering excessive speeding through the Community Speedwatch scheme.
We worked with roads policing to issue tickets to drivers speeding and commiting other road traffic offences. We delivered letters to repeat offenders in our Speedwatch areas.
You said: Anti-social behaviour (ASB)
You said there was a concern with ASB and littering at Millenium Park, Kingston Bagpuize
We did regular patrols engaging with park users who were respecting the park, making use of the bins and discussing facilities that might be use to tehir age groups in the area; skate park or parkour park. The high-visibility patrols have acted as a deterent and reports of the ASB have decresed.
These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
