Local priorities - 'You said, We did'

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  • You said: Rural Crime & Beauty spots vehicle thefts

You said there was an increase in rural crime, criminal damage and thefts from vehicles.

    We did:
The local police area have made this a priority in recent weeks with patrols to identify, disrupt and bring offenders to justice. Patrols around beauty spot car parks have been increased with crime prevention advice and notices being left on vehicles left in car parks. Five offenders committing hare coursing (offences consisting of criminal damage to land and cruelty to wild animals) were located by Thame NHPT close by to Thame. It is suspected that these offenders have been committing crime in the Thame rural area. The suspects have been interviewed and the investigation is ongoing.

  • You said: Anti-social behaviour (ASB)

You said there were young people causing anti-social behaviour (ASB) around the High Street, Thame.

    We did:
The Thame NHPT have acted on this information, carrying out regular patrols, we have identified the individuals and disrupted their behaviour, utilising our powers of dispersal orders. The Thame NHPT have been working closely with Costa coffee and other local shops to assist them to control the unacceptable behaviour of customers and youths. The Thame Neighbourhood Policing Team are still working on this ongoing concern and building evidence so that formal action can be considered by the main offenders.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
