Local priorities - 'You said, We did'
The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:
You said: Parking
We received complaints regardiong parking in Horspath around the school during pick up times.
We carried out regular patrols ensuring that the parents of the pupils and other road users were not parking on the zig zag crossings, giving suitable advice where appropriate. We engaged with the parents requesting that due care and consideration is taken when parking around the school. Regular patrols have improved the parking and there have been a reduction in complaints from local residents and road users.
You said: Theft from Vehicle
We received increased reports that work's vans were being broken into and tools/power tools stolen.
The neighbourhood team carried out regular high visibility patrols of the area’s most affected. The team gave out crime prevention advice and also put advice notices on any vehicles that could have been an easy target for thieves. A Crime Prevention Event was organised and advertised and PCSOs were on hand to offer advice and talk about property marking. Local business were visited and advised and a communication campaign supported this using Twitter and Thames Valley Alerts to further advise the public on how to reduce their chances of becoming a victim of this type of crime.
These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
