Chepping Wye Valley neighbourhood
Local priorities - 'You said, We did'
The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:
You said: Road Safety - working with the community to reduce speeding in our area
You Said: Reduce instances of speeding.
We organised officers with members of the local community to support community speed watch, which supports the work of the Neighbourhood action group MVAS’ project. Roads Policing and the “speed van” encouraged to spend more time within the Chepping area.
You said: Vehicle Crime - working with the community and partnership agencies to reduce vehicle crime
You Said: Reduce thefts from motor vehicles.
We have worked closely with those companies that manage repeat offence locations to improve their security, and worked with CID when offenders have been arrested. Isolated parking locations have more frequent patrolling to deter criminals and we are also making use of the clear car campaign.
You said: Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) - working with the community and partnership agencies to reduce ASB.
You Said: Reduce Anti-social Behaviour from groups of youths
We increased patrols and focused them on locations where you told us there were problems and engage with people at those locations. We have programmed operations for the summer holidays to ensure that ASB does not become an issue for local residents. We have worked closely with local residents to help them address some of the issues within their neighbourhood
These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
