Local priorities - 'You said, We did'
The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:
You said: Begging
You said - there was a problem in the town centre with people begging.
We did – an operation tackling the issues of begging and addressing the issue of why people were begging. During the operation we issued 8 people with warning letters, 3 people with cautions and one person has been reported for the offence. Since the operation several repeat offenders have now been through the court system and we are working with partner agencies to gather evidence to build a case using ASB legislation. We will continue to target the issue of begging while at the same time working with other agencies trying to provide support for those that are begging.
You said: Anti social behaviour on West End Road
You said there was anti social behaviour on West End Road.
We Did - Over the last few months the team have been working with WDC ASB officer to support efforts being made by Councillor Clarke to close the alleyway. Regular patrols and operations have reduced some of the anti-social behavior which residents have been experiencing. We have completed environmental studies and worked with Bucks CC to improve the landscape within the alley way, clearing it of rubbish, installing a litter bin and reducing the amount of overhanging foliage which excludes light. This remains a work in progress.
These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
