Local priorities - 'You said, We did'
The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:
You said: Speeding, Watermead
There have historically been observations reported to police to indicate the drivers using the main route into the Watermead estate drive with excessive speed
.Attempts have been made to quantify this with speed indication devices and officers deployed with the ‘speed gun’. We are working with the Parish Council in support of setting up a Community Speedwatch scheme in an attempt to identify and tackle this issue.
You said: Drug and alcohol abuse, Community Centre, Fairfax Crescent
The disused Community Centre on Fairfax Crescent has come to our attention over the past few weeks. There are clear signs of drugs use, alcohol abuse and a breach in the security boarding which makes the site unsafe.
We are in the process of identifying the current owners and once complete, will be working with them to ensure the site is made safe.
These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
