Local priorities - 'You said, We did'

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  • You said: Anti-Social Behaviour

There have been some issues with youths gathering in village recreation grounds.

    We did:
We are carrying out regular proactive patrols during the evenings and are engaging with youths seen in the area.

  • You said: Speeding

Many members of the community tell us about speeding in their villages.

    We did:
This month we have attended the following villages and carried out speed enforement checks. We visited Upper Heyford on two occasions during May and a total of 28 vehicles were found to be speeding. In Ardley 2 vehicles were found speeding and on another two occasions in North Aston we found a total of one vehicle speeding. All vehicle details will be passed to our enfoecement team and owners will be written to and given appropriate advice.

  • You said: Parking - including around schools

The areas that we are currently dealing with are around parking on pavements in Duns Tew and parking outside and around the primary schools in Chesterton and Steeple Aston.

    We did:
We are carrying out regular patrols in these areas particularly during drop off and pick up times for schools. The team have also engaged with schools and parents to discuss inconsiderate parking in the areas.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
