Local priorities - 'You said, We did'

The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:

  • You said: Anti-Social Behaviour

Main issues are the increase in ASB within child play parks and open spaces of land.

    We did:
We have seen an increase in ASB and criminal damage in and around Bicester Rugby Club so we have increased our patrols in the area and will continue to monitor the situation. On the evening of Halloween we had a dedicated Neighbourhood Patrol in Bicester and the feedback on ASB was very positive. The night passed off without major issue and it was really good to see so many children being accompanied by adults and the atmosphere was excellent. PC Lees has just completed a COmmunity Behaviour Order in respect to an individual who regularly causes issues in Bicester. This application is now being considered by the Crown Prosecution Service and we hope to progress the matter to court by the end of the year.

  • You said: Parking

Main issue areas are parking on single & double yellow lines in Bicester Town, use of the Cherwell District Council Resident Parking Scheme areas by non permit holders and obstructive parking on Langford Village particularly Mallards Way and outside the school.

    We did:
In the month of October we issued 26 fixed penalty notices for illegal parking in Bicester.

  • You said: Speeding

Our current main focus areas are Banbury Road, Langford Village and Kingsmere

    We did:
On Friday 7th October 2016 PC James Waterson & PS Steve Willis issued 9 tickets for excess speed to drivers on Langford Village during a 90 minute period. PC Thirlaway is still working closely with the newly formed Community Speed Watch group for the Banbury Road and we hope to have our first community / police day in November.

These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
