Local priorities - 'You said, We did'
The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:
You said: Theft and Damage to Santander Bikes.
This is a new item reported to us by the company responsible for maintaining the bikes. Approximately 40% of the fleet are out of action with many of these either being deliberately damaged or stolen
This is a city wide problem and as such a crime prevention plan is being coordinated from the main police station. TVP are liaising with the company that owns the bikes and the company that maintains the fleet to identify the best ways to prevent damage and theft.
You said: Problem with Youths on Motor Cycles.
As a result of ongoing concerns raised about off road motorcycles the team has initiated dedicated patrols throughout the area on each late shift
This has already resulted in a number of bikes being seized and destroyed and a reduction in the number of calls we have received from members of the public.Throughout August and September we have provided a dedicated double crewed patrol each evening. This has resulted in a number of bikes being seized. Notices have been issued to those responsible and the number of calls we are now receiving has reduced to a trickle.
You said: Inconsiderate Parking schools.
There have been a number of calls regarding inconsiderate and obstructive parking at a number of schools throughout the area.
Over the coming month the team will gauge the depth of the problem and report back on a plan of action
These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
